I have been a U2 fan since around 1983, when a buddy turned me on to War. I am part of the apparent consensus in that Achtung Baby is probably my fave, while counter-cultural in that I also dig Zooropa a lot. The experimental and maverick side of U2 is what made them so interesting to me, which they have, alas, traded for "Biggest Band in the World" status. I suppose I am substantially a product of my generation's Postmodern sensibilities, which has its advantages and disadvantages.
