anyone ever tried writing to them to request shows???

just on the Melbourne subject, the awesome audience recording would go awesome with that soundboard!! possible matrix in the future to get the crowd noise

you are working on the assumption that the taper recorded the whole thing. I doubt wel ever see the full lot but who knows.

has anybody contacted the guy about these clips? this audio is lovely, a full show from the australian leg would be great!
EDIT: just looked at his other vids, surely this guy was press at all the australian shows, i reckon he only had access to film the first 3 songs as is the norm... However the sound quality on the other clips is better and has more crowd... either way this is very interesting!

One thing I notice is that there is absolutely zero audience mixed into the soundboard feed... it's kind of lacking something. But it makes me think that the audio feed could be used in the future for something...

Also, on U2torrents, I looked up that Melbourne show, and the person who posted it (the audience recording, obviously) said that there were cameras up and filming the whole show... and not the digital 3D ones.

Some scenes weren't filmed entirely in 3D - only some scenes were, then had the 3D effect applied afterwards. I'm excited for this.

i doubt the video is complete but the audio might. I do think however that the audio and video are as one so if theres no complete video its unlikely that theres no complete audio. . . . . .

And how many soundboards are there from the fifth tour (publicly available)? I think just two - well, an IEM and a TV spot. A soundboard from Australia would be truly awesome, to compliment soundboards and very good audience recordings from all the other legs.

What exactly is soundboard audio, ( im guessing it's something similar to a switchboard for speakers/ mics etc.) If so how do these fans get access to that?

the soundboard is usually the mixing desk. It's where all the bands instrument feeds and Bono's vocals are sent to before being pumped out through the PA. You'd have to be granted access to the soundboard (legal or illegal) in order to record. Not 100% sure how people get this access though.

If you just plug your laptop into the board, though, loaded up Audacity, and recorded, you'd be unlikely to have good results... it would be mixed for a stadium or an arena. A recording really has to have its own mix, I believe (I'm not a huge expert on soundboard recordings, but I've used a soundboard before).

great colbourne... we will wait for his to answer.

I once read it's possible to request a headphone during a gig to listen to the music live from the mixing desk or something like that, and then you can record it or something?
