Of course we all know how U2 throws around dates!!
Having that in mind, we can probly be certain that an album will be released this year!
The latest issue of Q with Bono, Chris Martin, and Noel Galagher on the front presents a 2008 preview of new albums to come. They report new U2 this autumn, with a great little pix of the boys too!!!

this belongs to a speech given at the Midem music industry convention in Cannes by McGuinness:
U2 will release a new album in October, Mr. McGuinness said, which would be a collaboration with the producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. Unlike Radiohead, they are not seeking to leave their record company. Mr. McGuinness said that the band had a positive relationship with Universal which would continue indefinitely.
so it seems that we'll have to wait 'till October???????
I was hoping the new album to be released earlier!!!

It's a very logical timing, becaus it's before christmas, the best time to release an album. I'm not surprised.

U2 members say a lot in advance of an upcoming album, I told myself not to believe anything of it until I hear some songs first. And about the release date, same for that one, I don't believe it until it is in the shops. I remember a lot of U2 albums announced for a certain year or date but postponed afterwards.
