isn't Willie Williams a reliable source? Suppose the quote could have been taken out of context. I do remember rumours in 2002, after the superbowl, of a european stadium leg for Elevation. Don't suppose someone grabbed a quote about that and made it sound current?
and interesting that U2tours has nothing about this on their site

agreed as well. aside from that, it would be uncharacteristic for U2 to do a pre-album tour. I quite like the fact that U2 keeps their new songs under wraps, for the most part, until the proper tour for the album, another thing that separates them from other bands
