But in the right frame of mind, it's also a very positive image, because you can actually do something with blank canvas, which is effectively what the desert is."

The original working title of "Exit" was "Executioner's Song" because U2 was using a lot of literature as their jumping off point for the songs in terms of just taking their work in a slightly different direction.
