How can I upload images and display them on the forums? |
|
Well, you have an image, you want to share it with us. You go to the website imageshack.us
and browse to the picture. You fill in your e-mail address and the optional arguments and press the "host it!" button in order to upload your image to the web.
You get an e-mail and some information about your upload as well as an internet address, something like imageshack.us/folder/yourimage.jpg. You copy this address
and put it between the code: . Like this: . Then your image will be displayed on the forums!

How can I resize images and get rid of the resize message? |
Images posted in the forums with a width over 700 pixels are automatically resized so these images will not screw up the lay-out. It can be frustrating for
users with a slow internet connection if you post large images at our forums, that's why we encourage you to resize the images you want to post at the forums
first. You can resize images to a width smaller than 700 pixels (or smaller) pretty simple, just follow the instructions below:
(note: if you use imageshack to upload your image, the easiest way to perform the instructions below are to upload your image and tick the box that says 'resize image' and select '640x480', it will be enough and you don't need to follow the instructions below)
Step 1: Download Irfanview, it's a freeway program to resize images. Click here
to download and install Irfanview on your computer. Start the program now!
Step 2: Click on "File" in Irfanview and then on "Open". Search for the image you want to resize on your hard disk and open it.
Step 3: To resize the image click on "Set new size" and resize the width to approximately 550 pixels, whatever fits your needs, as long as it is smaller than 700 pixels. Then, make
sure you check the "Preserve aspect ratio". You can leave all the other settings untouched. This will resize your image.
Step 4: Click on "File" and then on "Save As", this will open a window where you can save your image on your hard disk. Under the text "File name" you see the option "Save as type", browse
this list until you get "JPG - JPEG files" and select this. Now push "Save" and save your image.
Step 5: Follow the instructions in the previous question in this FAQ to get your image online and published in the forums.
